Welcome to the Heart of Kent Walking Festival. The festival is all about enjoying walking, meeting new people and will take place in some of the most beautiful and unique landscapes.

2024 Festival - 15 - 24 March

It's official! The Heart of Kent Walking Festival is returning next Spring and again it will be spread over 10 days with many wonderful walks to choose from to explore the beauty that Kent has to offer.

With new themes, locations and distances, there is something for everyone to come and enjoy from the 15 - 24 March. Walks are now live and ready to book on our 'Festival Walks' page.

Sustainable Transport and Walking

With sustainability in mind many of the walks will start close to train stations and bus routes. This means you can leave your car at home and enjoy the journey.  The train lines travel through some beautiful countryside so all you have to do is relax. 

About the Festival Organisers

The festival is a collaboration of organisations, led by Visit Maidstone from Maidstone Borough Council and include: Explore Kent, Medway Valley Countryside Partnership, Kent Community Rail Partnership, Long Distance Walks Association, Walk Wild, Balfour Winery, History Hikers, Boots on Adventures, Hike South East, Augustine Camino, Kenward Trust and others.
